Leadwood Lodge takes its name and its spirit from the Mudzwiri, the Leadwood tree found throughout the surrounding Venda Limpopo bushveld. Slow growing and long living, the tree has always been a symbol of strength and quiet endurance for the communities who share this landscape.
That same spirit runs through the lodge itself, in the natural materials, the thatched roofs, and the unhurried pace of a stay here.
Leadwood sits in the shadow of the Soutpansberg mountains, in a part of Limpopo shaped by Venda culture and tradition. We have tried to bring that sense of place into the lodge itself, from the handcrafted details in each chalet to the stories our guides share on a game drive.

Leadwood is set directly off the N1, between Louis Trichardt and Musina, close to the Beitbridge border post. The last stretch to the lodge gate is about one kilometre of gravel road, an easy drive that does not need a four by four.
