Terms and Conditions

The terms that apply to quotations, bookings and stays at Leadwood Safari Lodge in Louis Trichardt, Limpopo.

About These Terms

These terms apply to every quotation, booking and stay at Leadwood Safari Lodge (registration number 1999/027750/07), Farm Grootgeluk, Louis Trichardt, Limpopo, and to the use of this website. By confirming a booking, you accept these terms on behalf of everyone in your party.

Rates and Quotations

  • Rates are quoted per chalet, per night, on a full board or bed and breakfast basis, and exclude VAT.
  • Published rates are a guide and may change. Your confirmed quotation is the price that applies to your booking.
  • Quotations are valid for five working days.
  • Corporate, government and group rates can be negotiated directly with our reservations team.
  • Alcoholic drinks, game drives and any extras not listed in your quotation are charged separately.

Bookings and Payment

  • A fifty percent deposit is required to confirm a booking. Dates are only held once the deposit has been received.
  • The balance is payable before check-in.
  • There is no minimum length of stay.
  • Weekend Getaways allow couples, solo travellers and small families to book a single chalet.
  • Exclusive use of the whole lodge applies when one party books five chalets or more. No separate exclusive use discount applies.
  • Government clients are invoiced according to the payment terms agreed in writing at the time of booking.

Cancellations

  • Cancellations received in writing 14 days or more before arrival carry no cancellation fee, provided the lodge has not suffered a financial loss.
  • Cancellations received less than two weeks before arrival are charged 20% of the booking value.
  • Cancellations received less than one week before arrival are charged 50% of the booking value.
  • Cancellations received less than 48 hours before arrival, and no-shows, are charged 100% of the booking value.

Changes to Guest Numbers

Changes to the number of guests or delegates must be given in writing at least four working days before arrival. Later reductions may be charged at the confirmed numbers.

Check-in and Check-out

Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out is by 11:00, unless otherwise agreed with our team in advance.

Occupancy and Children

  • Each chalet sleeps a maximum of two guests.
  • Children up to the age of nine may share a chalet with their parents, and children under twelve are charged half rate.
  • Extra beds are available on request.
  • Our chalets are not adapted for wheelchair access. Please contact us to discuss any accessibility needs before booking.

Food and Drinks

  • All meals are prepared by the lodge kitchen. External caterers are not permitted.
  • Guests may not bring their own alcohol. Where we agree to serve an item we do not stock, a corkage fee applies.
  • Dietary requirements must be shared at the time of booking. Our kitchen is halaal friendly but is not a certified halaal kitchen.

Events and Functions

  • Outdoor events are welcome in the gardens, subject to the event details agreed in your quotation.
  • Noise and curfew rules apply to protect other guests. A relaxed curfew applies only when the lodge is booked for exclusive use.
  • You may bring your own décor or event team, and you are responsible for their conduct and for any damage they cause.

House Rules

  • Pets are not allowed at the lodge.
  • Smoking is only permitted in designated smoking areas.
  • Children must be supervised by an adult at the swimming pool and during all outdoor activities, and age restrictions may apply to some activities.
  • Please treat the chalets, gardens, wildlife and staff with respect.

Game Drives, Activities and Indemnity

Game drives and all other activities take place in a natural bushveld environment and are undertaken at your own risk. Guests must follow the instructions of our guides and staff at all times, and may be asked to sign an indemnity form before taking part. To the extent permitted by law, Leadwood Safari Lodge is not liable for any injury, illness, loss or damage suffered during your stay or while taking part in any activity, except where it is caused by our gross negligence.

Personal Belongings and Damage

Every chalet has a safe, and guests remain responsible for their own belongings. Guests are liable for any damage to the chalets, furniture or property caused by them, their children or their invited suppliers.

We handle your personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act.
